MY WORLD

  • Hi! I’m Kirby Denny! Since the time I can remember, playing pretend has been one of my favorite things to do. As an adult, I’ve taken that to the extremes by choosing it as a career path! I have found a love for building and connecting with unique, bright, and versatile characters, and collaborating with like-minded creative individuals. Devising is one of my biggest passions. But when I’m not making theatre, I find artistic fulfillment and joy in fashion, visual arts, and in the kitchen. I’m a huge foodie so when I have the time to cook, I’m always searching for new recipes to inspire me. As a trans non-binary person, exploring the complexities of my identity and finding a place for genderqueer creatives not only in theatre, but in everyday life, is incredibly important to me. After moving to New York 4 years ago, this exploration continues to fuel me and expand my perspective every single day.

  • With formal training from Pace University and Institute of the Arts Barcelona, I pride myself on fluidity and have experience with stage and screen, classical and contemporary, dramatic and comedic, traditional and experimental.

  • Devising is my specialty. Majoring in Acting within Pace’s BA program, The International Performance Ensemble, I find the most joy when I am collaborating with others to create fresh and original work.

  • Visual arts hold a place in my heart and creative process. Collage, watercolor, and drawing have all been key aspects of my journey as an artist.

  • Shooting on a Canon Ae-1 35 mm. camera, I focus on portraiture and aim to capture unique souls representative of queerness, creativity, and the essence of New York City.
